JERUSALEM INTERNATIONAL DANCE WEEK

Jerusalem International Dance Week is one of Israel's peak cultural events, taking place annually in December and hosting nearly 100 international directors and curators from around the world Due to the recent events in Israel and the security challenges, the four-day marathon event, which combines the best of the Israeli independent dance scene, will unfortunately not be happening live in 2023. Instead we have created an online program selected by an artistic committee: Dr. Idit Suslik, Rachel Erdos, Sarah Holcman, Elena Christodoulidou, Ofra Idel, and Yair Vardi.

Some artists have chosen to present only the trailers from their work; feel free to ask them directly for the full documentation if you are interested.

The Dance Week website will remain open for viewing until March 31, 2024, allowing you to explore the works during this period.

We are delighted to announce that MASH Dance House will provide each artist with an international travel grant of 1000 Euro in 2024 to assist them in securing invitations to perform abroad. We hope this information is helpful when considering an invitation for one of the shows.

You are welcome to ask the artists or MASH if they have already utilized the international travel grant when considering inviting them. We acknowledge that watching the performances online is quite different from the impact of being in the theatre with us, but we hope the performances of these talented artists will resonate with you.

Unfortunately, this situation has also forced us to cancel our yearly Jerusalem International Choreography Competition, and we hope to showcase this platform in 2024.

Thank you for your friendship and solidarity, and we hope to meet you in person next year.
