Jerusalem International Dance Week 2020
International Dance Week aims to promote Jerusalem as an international dance space and to make visible high-quality, contemporary Israeli dance to the top international festivals worldwide. The showcase events and the international choreography competition were founded in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2011. MASH Dance Festival, which presents a variety of original works every year, premiered in 2006.
This year, due to the situation with COVID-19, the artistic directors and curators from around the world will not be able to meet in-person. Instead, we present here in digital format presentations, panels, and promos for shows to be held in Jerusalem for local audiences as well as live performances later this year.
We invite you to explore the website, be impressed, and create connections with the artists and with us in order to promote collaborations and exchanges of artists. And finally, we hope to meet face-to-face in Jerusalem in 2021.
The events are held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Jerusalem Municipality.

International Choreography Competition - The annual competition will be postponed to next year due to the circumstance. The artists selected to perform met (digitally) during the lockdown with Jerusalem artists and shared in dialogue, which you can view here. Next year, the guest and local artist partnerships will meet in a competition in Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Dance Showcase- Or Marin, Yotam Peled, Maya Yogel, and Ori Lenkinski
Excerpts from contemporary works that challenge the body moving in space are presented here, combined with interviews that give a glimpse into the content, inspiration and motivations for the works. Worth a peek!
Pitch Event- Dana Rottenberg, Rachel Erdos, May Zarhy, Efrat Rubin, and Roni Chadash present their artistic visions and concepts for special and original shows and projects.
MASH Festival - The festival will present original production premieres by Iris Erez, Oded Graf and Yossi Berg, Gilad Jerusalmy, and Talia Beck. Artistic guidance, management, and curation by Rachel Erdos.
MASH-Core Dance Atlanta- New project connecting Jerusalm artists Annabelle Dvir and Michal Meg Levin with American artists Joshua Rackliff and Benjamin Stevenson. The artists work under the guidance and artistic direction of Niv Scheinfeld and Oren Laor, as well as Sue Schroeder, director of Core Dance. They share in the creative process through online meetings. The project is in collaboration with the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affiars- Consulates of New York and Atlanta.
