About the CREATION
Can distance truly set us apart? On the same stage, two bodies recreate the current reality of relationships: the distance in the presence, the fugacious presence, the lust of the flesh, the announced end, the distance in the presence... A parallel and alternative path or the ultimate fulfilling of the most intimate human desires? A work in progress in an era of immediate decisions. Catarina and Tiago have been dancing together for over 5 years. A work of complicity, sharing and symbiose, that culminates in Matiik, their latest creation.
Bio Catarina Casqueiro -
Has graduated from the National Conservatory’s Dance School and began her career with a professional internship at the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, in Israel.
Joined Vórtice Dance Company, touring in Italy, Mexico and Portugal, after that worked with independent choreographers, like René Vinther; Pedro Ramos; Nélia Pinheiro and Filipa Peraltinha.
In partnership with Tiago Coelho, has been developing, since 2018, several creations exploring the countless possibilities of the symbiosis of bodies, the optical illusion and the limits of the physical body, individually and in duet, having, in the last few years, presented their own pieces in several festivals.
Bio Tiago Coelho -
Has Graduated at the Escola Superior de Dança, Tiago continued his studies in Israel at Batsheva Dance Company, in Antwerp (Belgium) and also in New York and Los Angeles (USA).
Has participated in several performances by National and International Choreographers and dance companies, namely Vórtice Dance Company, Teresa Ranieri, Marco da Silva Ferreira, Fábio Simões , Patrícia Henriques, Pedro Ramos and Victor Hugo Pontes.
