Body #1

Roni Chadash (1990) is an Israeli choreographer, performer and teacher, based in Tel Aviv.
Since 2015, Roni has been researching her particular body language and philosophical statement, one which identifies her works and way of moving.
In her physical research, Roni is deconstructing the body and transforming it into abstract
material, using separation of body parts and the extension of physical limits.
Roni is performing constantly around the world and received numerous awards for her originality, including Israel’s Ministry of Culture award for young choreographers for 2021 and 2018.
About the show
In the duet ‘Body #1’, Roni explores physically how two different bodies can emerge into one. By insisting on the sticky connection between the two pelvises, the performers find original ways to move as one body with eight limbs and two heads. The works gives a new visual and physical translation to the other half theory of Plato, that tries to give a reason for the never ending human desire for a monogamy:
“Each of us, then, is a ‘matching half’ of a human whole, because each was sliced like a flatfish, two out of one, and each of us is always seeking the half that matches him” Plato
